My background and teaching experience...

I received my elementary education in a missionary school and completed pre-university at Bhashyam College in Guntur, Andhra Pradesh. I then enrolled in Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University in Hyderabad where I completed B. Pharm and M. Pharm degrees. I have 13 years of teaching experience. In 2016 I joined Bapatla College of Pharmacy as an assistant professor. I teach inorganic chemistry, pharmaceutical validation, and quality assurance.

My initial thought after graduating was to work in the industry. However, I love teaching. Motivating students and guiding them is very gratifying.

My approach to teaching...

My approach to teaching changed because of covid and the implementation of remote learning. While before, in a classroom environment, it was easier to engage the students because they are in the same physical space, with remote learning you must be more creative in the use of tools and technologies. The setting is more like a seminar than a lecture. I use practical examples to reinforce the concepts I want them to learn. Also, I use remedial sessions to give the students an opportunity to ask questions and clear up doubts.

My message to graduating students...

I would tell the students that they need to be on a life-long learning path. What they have grasped in college is only 10% of what there is to know, so they must keep on learning. No matter what profession they choose to enter, they should do their work with complete interest. When your heart is totally in it, then the work is not so hard. If not, the work will seem tedious. I have gone through the same experience myself.

My Aikyam experience...

I want to thank the Aikyam team and BCP management for introducing the program to the students and teachers. In a traditional college setting, there is always some distance in the relationship between students and teachers. A program like Aikyam helps close that gap. In addition to thinking independently, the students discuss their ideas with us with less fear and inhibition because the program encourages them to express themselves openly, whether right or wrong.  Despite a busy schedule, the students are showing great interest in the program and benefiting from it. I see a lot of positive change in the students.
