Dr. M. Satya Dinesh

Aikyam Change Ambassador

Bapatla Engineering College

Bapatla, Andhra Pradesh, India

My background...

I have 2 degrees from National Institute of Technology, Jamshedpur – M. Tech and Ph.D. Right after my doctorate degree I joined Bapatla Engineering college Electrical and Electronics department as assistant professor. I have been teaching for 5 years now. I teach electrical signals and systems, control systems, high voltage engineering, energy conservation audit, and some labs.

My approach to teaching...

I know students need more time to digest any new concept that I teach in class. So, I use what I call the “flip-flop” method. After a new concept has been introduced, I meet with the students again to give them the opportunity to ask questions. I make myself available for groups that the students form themselves. The students come to these sessions with the mindset that they can ask questions and clear up any doubts.

My message to graduating students...

My message would be simple – work hard. It is fashionable to say do smart work not hard work, but ultimately, they need to work hard to be successful. They should not chase success. They should work hard, and success will surely follow.

My Aikyam experience...

I have taken up the role of Aikyam facilitator and work along with co-facilitator. My responsibility is to communicate with the students, give them guidance, and prepare them to submit their project at YouthMade Festival. The students are very interested in what Aikyam teaches them. Before Aikyam they didn’t have a platform to use to see their ideas implemented. Now they get mentoring from both the facilitators and the Aikyam team members, so they can bring their ideas to fruition. The Aikyam mentors are very friendly, patient, approachable and responsive. They understand that the students have a busy schedule, so they show great flexibility.
